The primary purpose of Storrie Dam is irrigation. The dam stores and diverts water for agricultural irrigation, supporting farming operations in the surrounding area. The dam is owned by Storrie Project Water Users Association (private). It impounds the Bonito Arroyo near Las Vegas.

The dam stands 90 feet tall and stretches 1,650 feet across, creates a reservoir covering 950 acres, has a maximum storage capacity of 32,395 acre-feet, and collects water from a drainage area of 7 square miles. Completed in 1921, the structure is over a century old.
