The primary purpose of Eastgate is fish and wildlife pond. The dam creates habitat for fish and wildlife, supporting local ecosystems and potentially serving conservation goals. The dam is owned by Eastgate Ranch Llc (private). It impounds the Jones Draw near Hat Six Road.

The dam stands 60 feet tall and stretches 960 feet across, creates a reservoir covering 32 acres, has a maximum storage capacity of 717 acre-feet, and collects water from a drainage area of 7 square miles. Completed in 2010, the structure is relatively new.
