The primary purpose of Sevier Bridge is irrigation. The dam stores and diverts water for agricultural irrigation, supporting farming operations in the surrounding area. The dam is owned by Consolidated Sevier Bridge Reservoir Co (private). It impounds the Sevier River near Leamington.

The dam stands 92 feet tall and stretches 1,340 feet across, has a maximum storage capacity of 363,000 acre-feet, and collects water from a drainage area of 5,120 square miles. Completed in 1914, the structure is over a century old.
