The dam is owned by Dichotomy Power Maine, Llc And Presumpcot Hydro, Llc (private). It impounds the Presumpscot River near South Windham.

The dam stands 50 feet tall and stretches 1,492 feet across, creates a reservoir covering 197 acres, has a maximum storage capacity of 2,900 acre-feet, and collects water from a drainage area of 446 square miles. Completed in 1913, the structure is over a century old.
