The primary purpose of W1 Phase2 South Pasture is tailings. These structures require ongoing monitoring because tailings can contain heavy metals and other contaminants. The dam is owned by The Mosaic Company (private). It impounds the Peace River near Ona.

The dam stands 38 feet tall and stretches 11,680 feet across, creates a reservoir covering 420 acres, has a maximum storage capacity of 14,000 acre-feet, and collects water from a drainage area of 0 square miles. Completed in 2003, the structure is relatively new.
