The primary purpose of Poole Dam is fire protection, stock, or small fish pond. The dam maintains a small impoundment used for fire suppression, livestock watering, or as a fish pond. The dam is owned by Valda Smith Poole (private). It impounds the North Enoree River.

The dam stands 32 feet tall, creates a reservoir covering 3 acres, and has a maximum storage capacity of 45 acre-feet. Completed in 2001, the structure is relatively new.
